Major £180M Financing
A significant milestone has been reached for BGO and Mission Street with the successful completion of the refinancing of their Oxford and Cambridge innovation portfolio alongside Tristan Capital Partners.
The £180 million facility marks one of the largest refinancing transactions seen in the UK life sciences and innovation real estate sector in recent years, demonstrating continued confidence in the long-term strength of these markets and the quality of the portfolio.
The refinancing provides a strong platform for the next stage of growth, unlocking the delivery of Fabrica, a 180,000 sq ft state-of-the-art innovation building that forms the second phase of the West End development in Oxford. As the city's only central innovation district, West End is set to play an important role in supporting the region's world-leading science, technology and research ecosystem by providing much-needed, high-quality space for pioneering businesses to scale and collaborate.
This investment reflects the continued momentum behind Oxford and Cambridge as globally recognised innovation hubs, where demand for best-in-class laboratory and workspace remains strong. By securing long-term funding, BGO and Mission Street are well positioned to continue delivering sustainable, future-focused developments that help meet the growing needs of occupiers while contributing to the economic growth of both cities.
Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this landmark transaction to completion. Particular thanks go to Brad Greenway, Luke C. L and Joy Dracos of JLL for leading the refinancing process and helping to deliver such an outstanding result for all parties involved.
